T-Bell, Mickey D’s, Perkshow. These are a few of my favorite places to get grub after a football game or busted party. Late night food hangouts provide adolescents with the nutrients they need: saturated fats and sodium.
Some poppin’ late night joints include Perkins, McDonald’s, and T-Bell. When I asked seniors Maddy Fitzchowan and Sheridan Wagner what their favorite late night spot is, they quickly responded, “Perkins, easy.” Wagner added that she loves conversing with “all the cute old men.” Junior Conor Kline prefers Mickey D’s; “I like the nugs; the 20-nug deal is the best in town.” Both locations are sophisticated and chic. Brightly colored fiber glass cover the sparkling walls of local McDonald’s. Perkins provides customers with the comfort of an old, suburban home with its homely, outdated decor.
A question still stands: How did the trend of going to a fast food place begin? After deep psychoanalysis of the EHS student body, it is apparent that students just want a place to go after evening events that’s still open after 11 PM. After the infamous sophomore party of February 2010, many students prefer to roll over to a local taco shop rather than a late-night open-house.
Perhaps one day, students will be able to gel at a friend’s house again. We’ll probably have to wait until underclassmen forget about the 2010 Hyde Park Drive shindig.
