I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty-two. Just kidding. What I was going to say was that I love Halloween. I’m not quite sure when I decided it’s probably my favorite holiday, but I did. I enjoy a good scare when I’m in the mood, and over the weekend, you better bet I was feeling ValleySCARE ready, and you better bet I had an excellent evening.
If you don’t like getting scared, or you hate roller coasters/amusement parks, don’t spend your money. Because those are the two things ValleySCARE has going for it.
I will say, those annoying photographers at the entrance really need to not be there. Yeah, please take my picture when it’s pitch black outside so you can blind me with your flash, and the photo will be absolute garbage because every single person will have red eye. Good idea to pay people to provide that service!
My night was a perfect balance of alternating roller coasters with the “haunted houses.” Why the quotation marks? Because I only got scared in two of them. Most of the “scream here” sort of places were quite lame. If you’re a ghost or a costumed gremlin or whatever, HIDE. Please do not stand out in the open right in front of my face then expect to scare me. I’m not an infant. It won’t work.
If you do go, make sure to check out the horror scene of high school. That maze was great and actually scared me a pleasant amount. If you see the “London Terror” maze, keep walking and pretend you don’t see it. Unless really old desks scare you, don’t waste your time.
Highlight of the night: when it flash flooded while I was on the tilt-a-whirl. Right when my friend and I started to really spin, the sky just decided to open up and pour out its love for the land or something. It was also fantastic to ride on the Scrambler. Even though my normal response is to laugh hysterically when I’m having fun, or when I’m scared, I had tears streaming down my face because for some reason that ride always gets me.
All in all, I would say I got to level three on the scream factor, but level ten for fun. Even though it’s a pricey night, Sarah says it’s worth it.
Sarah also says scary squash should sing songs?
