Broken Hearts and Bagels

This blog is very short, but heartbreakingly sad.

It’s about how I lost a friend.

Because of a bagel.

I’m serious.

Earlier this week, someone beautiful brought in bagels for a class of mine to happily consume. Everything should have been all well and good, but they only bought two cinnamon sugar circular wheels of baked dough. In a surge of aggression, I grabbed it. I wasn’t able to think about anything else, because my prefrontal cortex was temporarily deactivated as the adrenaline shot through my body. I was victorious in the fight for the food of dream lands, but in the process I hurt someone I care about very much on staff.

Her name is Bess.

She wanted the same bagel as me. But I took it. And because of that, we are no longer friends.

I know her heart is broken, but she might not know that my heart is broken too.

Sarah says, Bess Pearson will you ever forgive me?
