Sarah Says is a new blog that features a few of the bazillion thoughts in my head written down for your enjoyment. You’re welcome.

I know the first day of a new school year is always supposed to be a scary/exciting/”wonderful” thing, but this year it was just plain weird. What’s there to be nervous about as a senior? I no longer needed to walk through my schedule to feel confident, I know my way around the school, I know who my friends are, and I’m already thinking about the next chapter of my life. To be honest, I actually found myself laughing most of the day. Why, I’m not completely sure, but it happened.
The most surprising thing this week was the number of get-to-know-you games played. I mean, I’m not an uptight 40,000- year-old but really? It was unexpected, but definitely refreshing because I think we’re all secretly still in elementary school so it’s nice not to have to jump right into notes. AmIright?
Of course it’s always fun to see everyone again and catch up with the people you didn’t see as much as you would’ve hoped over the summer. What isn’t fun is knowing there’s still almost two hundred some days left of learning. The good news is, we’ve all done it for 10+ years so like Destiny’s Child would say, we’re all survivors and we’re gonna make it.
If this were an advice blog, or if I was your mom, I would tell everyone, but especially incoming sophomores, to take school seriously. Try your best to get good grades because they will affect your future. At the same time, don’t overwork yourself. We’re all still kids so we need to have fun too! Balance is key.
Sarah says calm down, don’t stress, and do your homework.

My mom says the “get – to – know” games don’t stop until you die. So you can laugh about them forever.
