Pam Bondi fired as United States Attorney General
Former United States Attorney General Pam Bondi was fired after only 14 months in the position. President Donald Trump cited an inability to meet key legal targets as the reason, likely referring to her controversial handling of the Epstein files and an inability to prosecute major opponents of the Trump administration. The news comes shortly after a litany of controversial staff turnovers, which include former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem. In public statements, Bondi shared that she is “eternally grateful” for the opportunity to serve under the Trump administration. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche is currently serving as the interim attorney general as the administration actively seeks new personnel.
