Trends That Need to Stop
How do you feel when you see someone wearing the most senseless trend? For me, it’s extremely aggravating, especially when the trend should already be done and over with. In fact, I have a whole list written down of all the trends that should be long gone. Although there are many, I narrowed it down to a list of four.
First of all, high-waisted shorts or jeans look like they’re meant for an old grandfather. Many girls who enjoy wearing these old-man clothes claim that they doesn’t expose as much skin if you pair them with crop tops, another popular trend.
If you claim that you only wear high-waisted shorts with crop tops because they don’t reveal as much skin, why can’t you just not reveal any skin at all? High-waisted pants with crop tops create the impression that your upper body is disproportionate to the lower part of your body. If you believe that the pants are comfortable, instead of wearing an outfit that makes you look deformed, why not wear high-waisted pants hidden behind a regular t-shirt?
Another irritating trend is graphic leggings and yoga pants. This type of clothing annoys me to the point where I want to burn them all to ashes. First of all, leggings are not meant to have pictures on them. Like any other pair of pants, they shouldn’t be bedazzled with so many colors and patterns that it hurts your eyes to look at them. Many girls would argue that it draws more attention to the bottom half of your body. However, you don’t need to look like a clown for people to notice you. You can wear regular black leggings, and still draw the same attention to your fabulous legs.
My least favorite trend is low-rise pants. This is for all you guys out there who don’t know how to take a hint. Sure, jeans that ride low a little bit can sometimes be attractive, but not to the point where you show half your boxers! The truth is, if you make it seem as though you’re trying, which a lot of guys do, it gets to the point where it looks disgusting and sloppy. I think people do it because it gives off a “bad boy” vibe, but the reality of it all is that most girls I know would rather have someone who’s clean and well-kept.
The last trend on my list is Crocs with socks. Crocs are practically sandals with holes on the tops to let air in, and they’re extremely roomy. Unfortunately, many people do not get the concept of how Crocs work, and end up putting socks on with them. It makes me wonder, “what the heck is so hard about putting shoes on the proper way?” I guess I’ll never know.
To put this into the simplest of terms, socks are not airy, but Crocs are. If you put socks on, and then your Crocs, it will not keep your feet cooled off and comfortable. It will make them hot and sweaty. So take my advice and choose the more comfortable route.
