Ten Things You Don’t Know About Toni Jones

1. When I was much younger, I had an arguably unhealthy obsession with Dru Hill and another boy band that shall remain nameless. I have several hours of television-appearance footage for each group on VHS and attended three different concerts to see the unnamed boy band before abruptly losing interest.

2. I am a casual feminist who was probably an Amazon warrior in a past life.

3. Controversial social debates energize me. Beware.

4. No one can beat me in “Sex and the City” trivia.  No one.

5. Volleyball is my favorite sport to play but I am probably better at basketball.  I played both sports throughout high school and intercollegiate volleyball for a couple years during undergrad. Now, I am a freshman volleyball coach for Edina.

6. During my first graduate program, I was a museum studies minor, so one of my hopes for this year and the future is to have my office double for a prestigious student and staff art gallery space. Please bring me your finest works!

7. I feel most alive when aimlessly frolicking through the streets of a walkable metropolis with excellent public transportation. New York City and Boston are two of my favorites.

8. I am a very proud southerner who absolutely loves collard greens (even more than kale) and sweet potatoes. I long for disrespectfully long, humid summers.

9. My little, big sister, who is four inches shorter and four years older, calls me a muppet. When I’m not in a professional setting, I can be behave in a rather muppety manner.

10. I cringe when called “Mrs. Jones.” I prefer “Toni” but if the formality can’t be avoided, “Ms. Jones” contains the appropriate title. (See items 2 and 3.)
