Charlie Fenske, photographer

Charlie Fenske is a man of many talents, but the one EHS knows best is his excellence as a resident photographer on the Zephyrus staff. This upbeat and smiley senior plans to continue his hobby of photography when he leaves high school for the University of Minnesota in the fall.
Joining Zephyrus at the beginning of his senior year, Charlie quickly found not only his passion for photography, but life-long friends in the Zephyrus staff. “I’d joined as a photographer because it’s one skill I can provide to the newspaper,” he said. When asked about his favorite parts of Zephyrus, he responded that the “social aspect” and “meeting new people” were definitely the highlights.
While Charlie is passionate about photography, his true love lies with everyone’s favorite restaurant, Raising Cane’s, where he plans to dine at least once a day on campus at the U of M. Who can blame him? It’s that good. He is also very excited to attend the football and hockey games at the University of Minnesota, as well to rush at a few frats as he hopes to be a member of one in the future.
He plans to major in entrepreneurship, hoping it will provide further freedom in his post-high school career. “I’d rather not have a salary cap and I love the whole concept of investing into yourself and learning from mistakes,” he said. Charlie craves both the freedom that comes with his senior year and to explore the artistic side of his personality. As an entrepreneurship major with endless creativity and positivity, who knows what Charlie might end up accomplishing?
What Charlie loves most about being on staff is the chance to let his creative side show by painting in the classroom while listening to music. If he is not painting, he may be found contributing to an idea day, catching up with his friends or leaving early.
Charlie’s kindness and laid-back demeanor will be missed by all of the Zephyrus staff members just as much as his photography skills. Still, his future following high school is sure to hold great things, and the rest of the Zephyrus staff looks forward to watching in awe.
