Bess Pearson, Opinion Editor
After spending eleven years as part of Lancaster’s Amish community, senior Bess Pearson moved to Edina to give the “English life” a go. She let her hair out of her bonnet, traded her butter churner for a cellphone, whoopie pies for cafeteria food, and even exposed her ankles in public (scandalous)! Most importantly, she can now express her true love for One Direction without fear of being shunned. She loves long walks on the beach, sunsets, and puppies. In her free time she still finds time to practice her basic farming skills, which include baling hay, growing corn, and milking cows. What does the future hold for this senior? “Perhaps I’ll use a computer, or even a television if I’m feeling reckless!” Bess concludes.
