Yes, it’s okay to be a mooch. For standard AP classes or common subjects, don’t waste your time making flashcards on Quizlet. Just go to Quizlet.com and search for pre-made flashcards. So many school across the nation use the same textbooks that we do, that you can even look up the book and chapter (e.g. Campbell Biology Chapter 20). Don’t thank me, thank all those who suffered before you.
Quizlet isn’t only one resource to mooch off of though. If you’re a multitasker, hit up YouTube. The site has hundreds of science and history lectures, book summaries, and my personal favorite, student made songs–no–TEACHER made songs (like this one, in which awkward meets educational). These shouldn’t be your only form of studying, but they’re a nice break from reading, and can be listened to while you’re doing something else.
Let’s be real, the best thing to mooch off of is always your friends. It sounds bad, but both of you will benefit from it. Share a study document on Google Docs, and agree to split up the work. Sharing pressures you to hold up your end of the bargain by finishing your own work, while still cutting your work in half. To bring the mooching another step further, trade study notes/outlines/note cards with other classmates before a test to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
