LuluLemon Athletica, one of the most widely worn brands of clothing by girls at Edina High School, has stripped its shelves of black yoga pants and crops. These leggings, worn by women looking for a comfortable fit, are no longer available at the store or online. The material used was found to be see-through, showing too much of its valued customer.
Sophomore Katie Mugge agreed that they can be see-through, but added, “You can’t tell until you’re really trying to look.” Other girls don’t agree, claiming that they are completely black, revealing nothing. “I have never noticed it myself. I think it is kind of a drastic measure to take them out of the store,” said junior Maddy Balcer. Both girls agree on one thing, though, that the short term loss of inventory will not affect where they shop in the future. “Lulu has nice, high quality clothes that I will continue to buy,” said Mugge. Balcer added, “They are so comfortable and can be worn with anything.”
The shelves were stripped of 17 percent of the store’s inventory. Yoga pants and crops are one of the main attractions. The company plans to fix its problem with the material and bring back the black pants in the near future. Sophomore Sydney Monsour plans to stick with Lulu even without the color black. “I’ll buy some more neutral colored pants, staying as close as I can to black,” said Monsour.

I believe it is the right thing to do to make sure that the pants are not see through, but also it is going to cause a very large drop in the company’s production since this piece of clothing is such a hot commodity to all middle school and high school girls, and also mothers.
