Is Cleansing Worth it?

Hello, I am featuring the Advocate Herbal Cleanse. The purpose of the cleanse is to rid your body of toxins, plain and simple. Possible upsides to that include increase in energy, weight loss, and improved skin tone.

This detoxification process lasts ten days and is aided by ProBiotic Restore tablets, Herbal Cleanse tablets, and a fiber drink; each to aid in healthy digestion and improved body organ function. Diet basics include drinking nothing but water and herbal tea and eating fruits, vegetables, complex whole grains, nuts, eggs, and lean meats. Absolutely no refined sugars or processed food, and no dairy.

While the cleanse seems straightforward, it definitely comes with its challenges. Days 1-2 were rough because I was trying to adjust to the difference in diet, but days 3-4 I felt absolutely incredible and had loads and loads of energy. Seeing as I’m basically a pregnant woman on the daily as far as cravings go, I had a very hard time and my cravings were pretty much constant from days 5-7. Did I want a caramel roll? You bet. Pancakes? Chipotle? A Cesar salad? A grilled cheese? All of the above. I was fantasizing about foods I don’t even like (not those listed above because I love all of those things- no disrespect).

I didn’t eat any of those foods, and I still survived! Crazy, right? I didn’t realize how much temptation is around all the time. I learned how good it feels to feel good. I was finally able to understand how tired and how worn down I was because I finally felt refreshed. The only other word that comes to mind is sluggish. I think a lot of people feel that way without realizing it, and that’s kind of freaky.

As far as difficult things go, this is definitely worth the challenge. Restricting eating for a short period of time teaches self control, and you’re doing a body a huge favor. Why not love what you’ve got? Treat your body like the beautiful, precious vessel it is. All I can say is self love and cleanses.
