Molly McGrane is dancing into the next chapter of her life. Next year, she plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWM) and will be on the dance team. Though she has been dancing her whole life, she has dabbled in many different styles. “I grew up dancing at Platinum Dance Center (PDC) where I danced styles from ballet to jazz and competed in up to 13 dances in a season,” Molly said.
Growing up in a world of dance created lifelong friends and a caring community for Molly; she was excited to see this UWM too. “I felt like [the UWM dance team] had built a really supportive community and everyone is super passionate and shared the same goals which is something I was super happy to see [at UWM],” Molly said.
Besides dancing at UWM, Molly is majoring in biology on the pre-med track and looking forward to what UWM has to offer. “[UWM] is close to home but also far enough away to get the college experience of going away and meeting new friends,” Molly said.
Molly is especially looking forward to the game-day experiences and Universal Dance Association nationals (UDA) while on the dance team. “I think going to Nationals and getting to represent my school will be a super unique experience,” she said. Molly has fond memories of dance and is ready to make new ones at UWM. “One of my favorite dance memories was competing with Team Minnesota at Miss Drill Team Nationals in California this year. This experience allowed me to make new friends and compete against some of the best dancers in the country,” she said.
