Senior Celine Henke plays not one, not two, but three unique sports. She is a captain for both the varsity Trap and Skeet team and the Badminton team at EHS. Here is some insight into her sport filled life:
1. How did you first get involved with badminton and polo?
“For badminton I started playing at the family cabin at a really young age. For polo I went to a summer camp in 7th grade called Culver in Indiana where they had a really strong equestrian program. They offered a bunch of different disciplines and I found polo to be extremely interesting.”
2. Do you prefer one over the other?
“I would say no. Each of the sports are so different. I mean polo definitely gives you an adrenalin rush, but badminton is such a zen sport. They’re opposites.”
3. Are there any other sports you play?
“Yes I am also captain of the trap and skeet team and I do kickboxing in order to strengthen myself for all of these sports.”
4. Do you ever get to travel for any of your sports? If so, where?
“At the moment, I only travel for polo. I play a lot in Florida and the Midwestern states. I hope to travel a lot more for college polo.”
5. Have you always enjoyed these sports or was it recently that you started to play them?
“I’ve always enjoyed these sports. In the past I played many sports, but these are the ones that have stuck with me.”
6. Are you planning on continuing these sports after high school? How?
“Yes, I received a scholarship to play polo at Texas A&M and I will most likely bring my gun down with me (after all it is Texas).”
