“Hehehehehe,” Meredith said.
The end of the school year brings the end of the legacy of Meredith Nemerov’s time on the multimedia team. Meredith, easily one of the most unique members of the multimedia staff, may not know her social security, credit card, license plate, or insurance policy number, but she certainly does know how to make people laugh. While she may not be the loudest voice in the room, those who take the time to acquaint themselves with Meredith are exposed to a vault of witty anecdotes and jokes. Her ability to bring humor into any situation has been a cornerstone of the multimedia team’s success, making her departure bittersweet. It would be an understatement to say she will be missed.
Before joining the multimedia team, Meredith was a staff writer. Outside of Zephyrus, she plays trumpet in Edina’s Concert Band, which serves as her formal, life-long accreditation to be a band kid. While she’s been on staff, Meredith enjoyed participating in Zonding and embracing the community that Zephyrus fosters. “[One of my favorite memories] was when we were building Lego towers… and my group won,” Meredith said.
Slow drivers are a problem for us all, but Meredith takes special issue with anyone who drives slower than the speed limit on Highway 100. “60 miles an hour—that’s the minimum,” she said. Meredith also takes issue with people doing their jobs, especially when they are trying to write an article about her. “My biggest pet peeve is [when] I get interviewed by another staff member and they ask me a ton of stupid questions,” Meredith said.
Looking ahead, Meredith plans to take a gap year adventure in Ireland, despite the possibility that she could be mistaken for a leprechaun. Following her gap year, Meredith intends to further her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, where she will continue her academic journey with the same zest and wit that those who know her have come to expect.
