1. Babysitter: Get in touch with a local church; most of them have a babysitter list they have for members to use. The Red Cross also offers a business card template online for sitters.
2. Edina Parks & Rec helpers: Work at the playgrounds with kids. Positions are open until they are filled. Apps are available online at the Edina Parks and Rec website.
3.Career Center Opportunities: Throughout the year the Career Center posts job opportunities in the counseling office and the outside of the library. During the spring they will begin to post about summer jobs for students. The best part is that many of these jobs are well over minimum wage. You can also contact the CareerCenter via their email for more information.
4. Lawn Service: Post flyers around your neighborhood advertising a lawn mowing service and/or gardener. This job is great because you can be flexible with when you work, can ask to be paid in cash and you will never get the night shift!
5. Lifeguard: The downside to this is you will have to be certified before you get a job. The upside is you get to tan by the pool all day while being paid for it!
6. State Fair: Yes, this is a temporary job at the end of the summer, but it will be one for the memories. You just have to get over the fact that you might be sweating over hot greasy fries for eight hours in the August heat.
