Adele Chinnakotla: I’m involved in World Quest; I’m the captain. I’m also a part of Ceramics Club and the superintendent leadership team.

A.C.: This is not a hot take, but I hate slow walkers.
Z.: Which EHS vending machine snack are you and why?
A.C.: I would say Cool Ranch Doritos because I like to go with the flow.
Z.: If you had to pick a teacher to be stranded on a deserted island with you, who would you pick and why?
A.C.: Probably Mr. Burf, the APES teacher, because he knows a lot about the environment and will probably keep us all alive.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
A.C.: It means representing Edina in a way that’s bigger than just myself.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Henry Couchman: I do football, Concert Choir, Men’s Chorus, and Bible study.
Z.: What is your go-to karaoke song?
H.C.: I’m not sure, but for the upcoming choir concert, me and my friends want to sing the “Pitch Perfect” rendition of “Magic.”
Z.: If you could create an AP class, what would it be about?
H.C.: Probably AP Movie Review.
Z.: What is your ideal spring break vacation?
H.C.: I’m going to Punta Cana for senior spring break this year, so I’m excited for that.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
H.C.: It’s just making memories and really living up my last semester of high school.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Cooper Drake: Last year I was in DECA, I am a track and field captain, and I am a part of Teens for a Greener Tomorrow.
Z.: If you were a plant, what plant would you be and why?
C.D.: I would be a green bean because they’re tall and I like them.
Z.: What is your least favorite popular clothing trend and why?
C.D.: I don’t like wearing jeans.
Z.: Would you rather be the worst player on a good soccer team or the best player on a terrible soccer team?
C.D.: I would want to be the best player on a bad team because it opens up opportunities to find a new team and contribute.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
C.D.: It’s an honor to be chosen by my fellow peers, and it’s a cool chance to meet people I haven’t interacted with in my high school career.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Ruby Dypwick: I’m in Edina Hockey Cheer, Braemar Figure Skating Club, Edina Volunteer Club Leader, and Zephyrus broadcast.
Z.: What fictional character would be the best teacher?
R.D.: Ms. Frizzle from “The Magic Schoolbus.”
Z.: Would you rather only be able to whisper or only be able to shout?
R.D.: Whisper because I’m already a loud person.

R.D.: Bruno Mars.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
R.D.: It’s a great opportunity to represent the school and see how much my friends care about me. It means awesomeness.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Giada Ferraro: At Edina, I’m involved in track and field as a sprinter. I’m in DECA going to state, Garden in Manhattan, and I’m a part of the club Project Blush.
Z.: If you could live in any movie, what movie would it be?
G.F.: I would live in “Barbie Life in the Dream House,” the series.
Z.: What song do you secretly love but if it came on in public, you’d pretend not to know it?
G.F.: Oh gosh, “Murder on my Mind.”
Z.: What’s something you could give a 30 minute presentation on without preparing for it?
G.F.: I could give a 30 minute presentation on all the brainrot and drama that goes on that requires 10-plus hours of screen time.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
G.F.: Being on court means to have fun, represent my fellow students and live vicariously through my friends. Also to give good energy and to represent love.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Joshua Furo: Basketball, ultimate frisbee, Garden in Manhattan, [and] Caring and Committed Conversations.
Z.: If you could swap bodies with a celebrity for one day, who would it be?
J.F.: Anthony Edwards, face of the NBA.
Z.: If you could magically become good at any skill you want, but you would lose a finger or a toe for each skill, would you choose to do so?
J.F.: No, I feel like I need all my fingers and toes.
Z.: What is your favorite decade of the 21st century?
J.F.: The 2010s.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
J.F.: It means a lot to me because I watched friends do it last year.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Juliet Heffelbower: I’m involved in Art Club and just arts in general at the school. This summer I did mountain biking. I also do a lot of volunteering, and I am one of the captains of Mock Trial.
Z.: What’s your comfort food?
J.H.: I really like pho. Actually, I really like soup in general, but pho is my favorite. It’s really nice and comforting to eat something warm and tasty.
Z.: Who is your fictional twin?
J.H.: I think my fictional twin is Jake the Dog. They always try to keep happy and positive and have a good time.
Z.: What is the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
J.H.: The best advice I’ve ever gotten is from my sister. When I was feeling insecure, she told me, “I wish you could see yourself through my eyes,” and that made me realize that every person is their own worst critic, and I shouldn’t be so harsh on myself if I’m not harsh on other people.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
J.H.: To me, being on court means that we’re representing the school as a whole and trying to do something that is fun and uplifting for everyone.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Noah Johnson: Edina Boys’ Track and Field. I’m also a part of Concert Choir and Men’s Chorus.
Z.: Who on court do you think you could take in a fight and why?
N.J.: Owen Meyer because he’s a scrum. He talks too much. He talks a big game, but he can’t hold his word.
Z.: If you could give advice to your middle-school self, what would you say?
N.J.: There are a lot of valuable takeaways from hard things. Don’t shy away from doing something that’s hard.
Z.: If you had to teach one class or subject at EHS, what would you teach and why?
N.J.: I would teach economics because that’s what I’m majoring in next year and I like business. I think it’s fascinating to see how the world works from a business perspective.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
N.J.: It’s an honor that my peers thought I would represent them well. I also think it’s just a fun opportunity to put on a show for the rest of the student body.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Lauren Lock: I’m involved in a couple clubs here, including Spanish Club, Girls United, Edina Medical Club, and I do swim and dive.
Z.: If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
L.L.: Bruegger’s Bagels, 100%.
Z.: Who is your court crush?
L.L.: Honestly, Giada.
Z.: Do you have a hidden talent?
L.L.: Um, not at the moment. But I’m working on it.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
L.L.: It means just representing my grade as a whole, also my community as well.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Owen Meyer: I’m on varsity baseball and Concert Choir.
Z.: Who’s a celebrity you genuinely think you could be friends with?
O.M.: Robert Berger because he’s a very normal guy. [He] loves golf, sports, [and is a] big food addict.
Z.: Do you wish you lived in another time period?
O.M.: I like the time period we are in right now. I feel like I fit in pretty good.
Z.: If given the chance, would you go on “Love Island?”
O.M.: Definitely not.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
O.M.: It’s a great opportunity to hang out with my friends and have a fun new experience.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Elena Rapallini: I’m co-president of the Women in STEM Club. I’m co-marketing chair for Global Scholars, secretary for Interact Club, [and] on the leadership team for Model UN. I’ve also played soccer and lacrosse at Edina before, [and] I’m in the Edina Orchestra.
Z.: If you could magically teleport to one place in the world at any time, where would you choose and why?
E.R.: Fiji because it’s very tropical.
Z.: If you could only take classes about one subject, what subject would you choose?
E.R.: Science

E.R.: I think it’s a great opportunity to be recognized by the rest of your grade, and I’m very grateful and excited about it.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Keelyn Reilly: I’m in Concert Choir, and I have been for two years. I’m also in Chamber Choir; we do caroling, which is fun. I’m also a part of Global Scholars. I just finished my capstone project. I’ll do track and field this spring.
Z.: What is your go-to comfort show?
K.R.: My comfort show is “New Girl.” It’s my favorite.
Z.: If you were a color, what color would you be?
K.R.: I think I would be green.

K.R.: My court crush? Lily Sannes-Eckhoff.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
K.R.: Being on the court means to me that I’ve gotten involved and gotten to know a lot of people at the high school. It’s kind of an honor to know that many people voted for me.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Gina Russo: I play hockey and soccer, and I am also involved in DECA.
Z.: If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
G.R.: It would be “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Z.: What is your go-to comfort movie or show and why?
G.R.: “Gossip Girl” because I think it is really entertaining.

G.R.: It would probably be one tiger.

G.R.: Being on court means that people see me as someone that represents what Edina High School stands for.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Lily Sannes-Eckhoff: I am part of the Global Scholars Club and Interact Club, and I’m also co-president of both French Club and Spanish Club. I’m on the cross-country team and the track and field team.
Z.: What food do you think they should start selling in the cafeteria?
L.S.: Like a really bougie pasta bar.
Z.: What is your least favorite word?
L.S.: I hate the word “lmao,” even though I text it sometimes. I really don’t like it.
Z.: What is the dumbest way you’ve been hurt?
L.S.: I was cleaning up my room on my hands and knees, and I went over my finger with my knee, and it broke.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
L.S.: I’m excited to be with all these people. Some of them I don’t know, so I’m excited to get to know them and just have fun and represent our grade.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Will Seidelmann: I’m an ultimate frisbee varsity [player]. I was a JV captain last year, so I’m a big part of that community. I’m also doing World Quest.
Z.: Which teachers at EHS do you think would be good members of Sweethearts Royalty?
W.S.: Mr. Flug and Stu.
Z.: What type of pasta are you?
W.S: The bowtie one.
Z.: If you could switch lives with anyone, who would it be and why?
W.S.: An NBA player [because] you get money for playing sports.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
W.S.: To me, it’s a really fun opportunity to get out there and make some memories that I can show my friends and have my friends laugh at me while I’m dancing on the floor, so that’ll be fun.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Chloe Smith: I am a part of the leadership board for the Black Student Union, I’m a writing editor for the yearbook, I was a part of the swim team in the fall, and I’m part of the speech team right now. Outside of school, I tutor.
Z.: What is your favorite song to scream-sing to while driving?
C.S.: Lately it has been “Suddenly Seymour.” It’s a theater song, but I’m not in theater.
Z.: What is your best unpopular opinion?
C.S.: Pancakes are not that good. Waffles are the same as pancakes. I mean I’ll eat them, but they’re overhyped. Breakfast in general is overhyped. Sweet breakfast is overhyped. Savory breakfast is the way to go.
Z.: What is a secret hidden talent of yours?
C.S.: I’m actually the best oracle. I’m a really talented tarot card reader. So I guess I can give anyone a tarot card reading if you want. I can give a nice little spread, tell your love life, your future. Not really a talent because I just flip through the book and read the actual card meanings, but it’s my talent.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
C.S.: I think it means I get to represent my school and be a part of something that brings a bunch of different people from different walks of life at school because I feel like all of us are from different activities, different clubs, different friend groups. So it’s really cool to be on court.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Willy Thurk: I am a full time swimmer; I’ve been on the high school swim team for four years. Last year and this year I was a peer tutor and then I am also in Edina Rotary Global Scholars.
Z.: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
W.T.: Definitely Greece. I’ve been to Greece twice and each time I go, I just love it more, mainly because of the blue water.
Z.: Who on court would make the best president?
W.T.: Frank Velner
Z.: What is your walk up song?
W.T.: I don’t know. White girl music is pretty good, so can’t miss on that.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
W.T.: It’s a fun moment, fun experience to be with all my friends, and yeah, it’s going to be a fun time.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Finley Tooley: I’m involved in cross country, track, I’m a business editor for Whigrean, which is the yearbook, and I’m in Spanish Club.
Z.: If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
Finley Tooley: Pink. I just think it’s a happy color. There’s so many shades, and I like that. My favorite color is plum. So it’s like in-between. Okay, I’d be plum.
Z.: What animal would you be and why?
F.T.: Maybe a sea otter. I really like sea otters, and I feel like they have a good energy and they’re fluffy, but they live in the water, and I think I resonate with them.
Z.: What’s the best piece of advice a teacher has given to you?
F.T.: Grades don’t define you.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
F.T.: I’m excited to dance. I think it’s really exciting to be selected by everyone in my grade. And I think it means that everybody thinks I have high energy, which I appreciate.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Felipe Vasconcelos: Varsity volleyball captain, Model UN
Z.: If you could travel back in time to any time period, where would you go and why?
F.V.: I would go to the Jurassic period. I want to check things out [and] maybe see what it was like back in the day.
Z.: If you had a song that would play every time you walked into a room, what would you choose?
F.V.: Passionfruit by Drake. It’s a chill song.
Z.: If you were to create a class at EHS, what would you create?
F.V.: I would create an Intro to Engineering course.
Z.: What does being on court mean to you?
F.V.: I think it’s pretty cool, being able to see that I’m representing my peers and getting a little bit of recognition. I feel like it’s a cool experience.
Zephyrus: What activities are you involved in?
Frank Velner: I was on the football team in the fall. I play on one of the club hockey teams for the association called JGA, and I play lacrosse in the spring.
Z.: What is your favorite weird food combo?
F.V.: I don’t really have any weird food combos. I’m pretty basic when it comes to food.
Z.: Would you rather have a personal maid or a personal chef?
F.V.: A personal chef. I might not have any weird food combos, but I really do like food.
Z.: If you had to have a song played every time you entered a room, what would it be?
F.V.: Probably “Down Under.”

F.V.: I just really appreciate that my peers voted for me. It’s a pretty cool opportunity to represent our class and be a part of the dance.
