“My friend asked me to go on a fishing trip with him and his dad. His dad is a super disgruntled marine biologist, so he was super excited to take us. They hired this fishing guide to take us and he was a super experienced shark guide. So he takes us out into the Gulf and it takes about forty-five minutes to get near the spot where he said that all the mackerel are, and once we get there he tells me to start chumming off the back of the boat. So I’m chumming out the back for about twenty minutes, and after thirty minutes of fishing we catch a ton of mackerel and everything is going great until suddenly the boat starts rocking and it gets more and more violent.
“It keeps happening and goes on for another five minutes, and we thought it was just the waves at first, but it keeps going, and it turns out it was a pack of lemon sharks. Each one was at least five feet long, coming out of the water a little bit, and trying to knock over the boat. Our guide just started going crazy because he was a huge shark guy and he began just completely freaking out and terrified. The lemon sharks were hitting our boat so violently that they hit the engine and it detached from the boat a little bit. Once they went away, we were stranded in the Gulf. My friend’s dad wanted to call the Coast Guard, but our guide was absolutely insane and insisted that he was going to fix it. We sit out there is silence for two hours waiting for this guide to fix the boat, and eventually, he did and we made it back to shore.”
