Zephyrus’ ultimate holiday gift guide

Hailey Bergeson, staff writer

In an attempt to encompass the deepest desires of the entire student body population, here are the top 10 things you should get your favorite person for the holidays (or put on your personal wish list).

Diffuser– Not only do these add fun scents to a room, but they also are known for their calming purposes. Some experts claim they are safer than candles as they don’t add toxins into the air as wax does. Additionally, they are long-lasting and require little maintenance.

Ukulele– Get your Secret Santa one—they’ll be an expert in a week. Probably the easiest instrument to learn (besides elementary school recorders), ukuleles are fun and time-consuming. There are a variety of brands available, allowing flexibility with budgets.

Spikeball– A fun game to play with friends: it’s versatile as it can be used both inside and outside. It doesn’t require much space to play and is an entertaining way to be active. It’s also fairly easy to learn, so you can get a game together quickly.

Lululemon gift card– Yes, this is basic. Yes, it is the best idea ever. Yes, you can give this to anyone. Not only can you avoid searching through the store for a pair of sweatpants that are going to get returned, but you will still feel accomplished when your gift recipient sends you a picture of their new $500 outfit that you only paid 30 dollars for.

Sunset lamp– Part of a growing Tik Tok trend, these lamps project an artificial sunset onto walls and are sold in a variety of colors and sizes. They add ambient and more adjustable lighting to any room.

Wireless headphones– A staple for all wish lists, headphones are useful for blocking out sound, taking calls, and listening to music and podcasts. Add in the wireless factor, and they tend to get more expensive. However, they also prove to be versatile and simple as they can connect to anything with Bluetooth capabilities.

“The Comfy”– Basically a massive wearable blanket, these are great for your friend who always claims they are “freezing cold.” In Minnesota winter fashion, the temperature will only continue to drop, so it’s a good idea to have something like this waiting in your closet.

Plant– Contrary to popular belief, anyone can own a plant, making them a perfect gift for someone looking for a new addition to their room. They’re known for improving people’s moods and even provide a multitude of health benefits.

Keyboard– Looking for a gift for your friend who needs motivation? Give them a keyboard to write all their essays on. Trust me, they will thank you when they realize typing is more enjoyable with noisy keys. You can find keyboards in all different colors, shapes, and sizes, and they are usually customizable.

Air Jordans– These are the perfect gift for your Nike-obsessed friend—yes, the one who had an Instagram account dedicated to selling shoes in seventh grade. You have to be careful as you risk offending people with the wrong ones, but in my experience, you can’t go wrong with Air Jordans. Still, it might be a good idea to ask your friend their favorite colors and style before you buy.
