Matthew Egger

Matthew Egger came into the world on a bitterly cold, late December day. Perhaps that explains his apparently cold persona shrouding his true and friendly demeanor. In addition to enduring the Winter of 2013, Matthew has traveled outside of the cliched Edinian spring break havens of Florida, California, Mexico etc. etc. His adventures have ranged from bushwhacking with machetes through the Amazon rainforest to unearthing rusted C-ration cans on Normandy beaches. He’s even climbed the tallest mountain in Wales to boot. Despite being a keen student of history and geography, Matthew believes the most comforting words one can hear are “No, kind sir, I have not begun the homework either” and the worst being “Mr./Mrs. Olson, what about the homework for this weekend?” When not studying, working out, or writing for the newspaper, Matthew enjoys red meat and a strong cup of joe. Matthew’s studious work ethic reflects his high hopes of joining the prestigious group of East Coast colleges that will go unnamed upon graduation from high school. However, if this falls through, Matthew will likely seek an ascetic life in the Green Mountains, traversing the terrain on an old pair of wooden skis while subsisting on maple syrup, moose meat, and mountain berries.
