Kate Ehde is an Edina High School sophomore who loves to share the word of God and spread her religion. She writes a blog to share passages from the Bible and stories of a religious teen’s life.

“I kind of wrote it in mind for Christians, and others of that faith, but I think if it’s going to help people who are struggling regardless their religion, then that’s a blessing,” said Ehde.

Each post that she writes are filled with passages from the Bible. Most of these passages tie into her stories, and provide light on school, nature, community, and how she sees God’s presence.

Her first post was published on Sept. 7, 2014, and describes a tale of Ehde giving back to the community. “I do a life group on Saturdays, and we once met with homeless people and prayed with them and talked with them.”

Ehde made friends with a homeless man who has no friends and no family. She shares her faith with him, and he has been surprised by her kindness. Many of Ehde’s blog entries have been inspired by words of her youth leader and older Christians at her church. “They’ve been huge leaders in my life,” she said. Ehde attends River Valley Church where a lot of her blog’s stories are inspired from.

In high school, many teens who were once religious don’t have time for God in their lives anymore, or look down upon kids who do. Although this may be discouraging to some students, Ehde looks past it, saying, “I think there are moments where I do feel lonely, but to me God is so much bigger than the struggles that I face, and I just believe that God is a source of strength through me. I don’t need people’s approval to be happy.”

Ehde’s blog became popular when she first posted the link to her blog on her Instagram account. “One of my mentors reads my blogs, and friends from different schools have showed it around so I know it’s a lot bigger than just people from Edina,” said Ehde.

Several EHS students read it whenever she posts, and enjoy it thoroughly. Most of her Instagram pictures are filled with kind prayers for her friends, along with passages to provide inspiration and strength. “I’ve had friends who read my blog say that was totally what they needed to hear because then I know why God prompted me to write about those things.” Her words impact high schoolers and bring comfort to those who seek it.
